Role Overview:
The main objective of this position (Sales Planner) is the planning, optimization and execution of commercial campaigns, as well as providing support in all processes and activities related to the daily operation of the sales department.
Due to the active role of the sales planner, mainly internal, they will have a detailed knowledge of the opportunities in the channel and will need to convey those opportunities to the members of the sales team. A successful sales planner is involved in various customer situations and is asked to help find viable opportunities and create media proposals for linear and digital opportunities. To be successful, the sales planner will need to develop a strong aptitude for using the various research databases: Ibope, Comscore, and TGI, with appropriate industry accreditation.
The sales planner, working closely with your ad sales planning supervisor and sales team, will be involved
- In the creation, preparation and/or execution of sales proposals.
- In conversations with clients and/or agencies following up on sales proposals.
- Be informed of the content and/or actions of both digital and linear business units.
- To know very precisely the accounts and/or clients, as well as the projects with them.
- Knowing the status of the clients' materials, following up on them and finally making the delivery in a timely manner for the approval of the spot.
- In monitoring the implemented campaigns are being carried out satisfactorily or otherwise look for alternatives with the team to meet the campaign objectives.
- In requesting, coordinating and following up with the research department for the post-buy of the client's campaign
Customer contact and continuous learning from sales team members will help the sales planner gain the experience and sharpening skills that will lead to potentially a strong account executive.
Main responsibilities:
- Day-to-day support in sales maintenance includes the development of linear and digital sales proposals and orders, as well as active monitoring of the customer's production status and delivery of materials. The sales planner will be involved in the process of reconciling the client's media plans.
- In-depth knowledge of our channel activities. The Sales Planner must be fully aware of what is happening with our properties and/or business units. In addition, the sales planner must know the channel status of all customer-related creative development. Knowing the channel breakout structure, the sales planner must evaluate a client's media plan and verify that the plan can be met. On those occasions when it is unable to do so, the Sales Planner must offer alternative time periods/schedules to the customer before the order is entered into the Traffic System.
- Understanding and involvement in the overall sales process. From the initial launch of an account to order processing and ongoing account maintenance, including but not limited to billing, traffic-related tasks, etc.
- Contact with the client and/or agencies. Given their knowledge of a customer, the sales planner is the "eyes and ears" of the account executive when the customer is not available.
- Coordinate with the different internal departments the execution of the client's campaign.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Finance or Administration.
Knowledge:
- Languages: Bilingual (Spanish/English) with proficiency in both oral and written English
- Knowledge in the sales process and/or advertising negotiations with clients.
- Traditional and digital media expertise
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, mainly Excel and Power Point; as well as other industry and company-specific programs. In addition, in this role you will need to have a general use of the internet as a source of information.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of sales planning experience and a minimum of 1 year of entertainment experience is preferred.
- Understanding of offline and online media: The sales planner must have a working knowledge of the industry, key channel networks, and multichannel media.
- Understanding the sales and customer service process: Learn and start activating the process and steps that are required from initial contact to successful order completion. Attention to detail is vital to ensure that all activities go as planned. Demonstrate interpersonal skills that support building an effective relationship with clients and colleagues.
- Understanding and knowledge of digital and linear metrics: The sales planner must be familiar with these measurements to drive the numerical sustainability of clients' advertising campaigns.
- Meeting Established Deadlines: The Planner must coordinate with customers to deliver plans in accordance with established Traffic deadlines.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Performance Under Pressure The sales planner will deal regularly with many people, often under time constraints and pressures. Given this likely scenario, the coordinator should be a calm person who can work well under pressure and with people of different personalities.
- Ability to multitask and function effectively in an ever-changing business environment
- Motivated individual who knows where to go to find answers to questions. A team player and motivated sales planner is a critical member of the team and must have a positive attitude to be a contributing member of the team and support a positive environment for their colleagues. In addition, the coordinator must have a high degree of self-motivation to seek answers to the questions.
