EVP Development & Production – Game Show Network (GSN)

Reporting to the President of Game Show Network, the EVP of Development & Production will lead the Development and Current teams to engage either with internal or external partners, to develop and produce original game show content for GSN network as well as drive Game Show Enterprises Studios overall strategy ---developing content with/for 3rd parties, alternative networks and streaming platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee strategy for show development for Game Show Network the cable channel, as well as content developed by Game Show Enterprises Studios to be distributed on alternative networks and platforms
• Oversight for all departments involved in show development and production: GSN Development, Talent, Studios and Current teams
• Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to pursue potential deals where appropriate
• Field show pitches, identify trends, and establish the strategic development goals for the network and Studio
• Identify and secure new and diverse talent for projects in development that our audience will find engaging and connect to
• From a creative lens, oversee the entire production process to ensure that agreed-to show concepts are fully realized in production
• Partner closely with Production finance to ensure all show budgets and show productions remain on budget; identify areas of overspend and ways to reduce spending
• Serves as main creative executive on final run-throughs and presents new shows to executive leadership for greenlight process
• Participate in the development of internal formats and give feedback on concepts, reels, casting, and cuts.
• Work with Business Affairs to close talent and production deals
• Build and maintain relationships with our production partners and attend industry events and screenings, to keep a pulse on emerging talent and active participant in the creative community

Requirements:

• 20+ years’ experience in television development, hands-on experience, ideally from both production and development
• Must have experience in either generating and taking pitches for a production company OR taking pitches for a network or cable network
• Strong relationships with the agent and production community
• Must have sound editorial judgement with a background in producing, game show genre, and content development is a plus.
• Exhibit flexibility, excellent communication skills and relationship building ability
• Assertive, enthusiastic and highly motivated self-starter, polished with good interpersonal skills
• Creative and passionate Innovative and entrepreneurial spirit who is assertive, enthusiastic and highly motivated experience in television development
• Maintain strong relationships with talent, production companies and producers
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and high energy environment
• Must be diplomatic with expert problem-solving skills.   
• Knowledge of basic web technology, streaming platforms and social media, MS suite
• Bachelor's degree in Media, Television, Film or related subject or equivalent experience

The anticipated base salary for this position is $375,000 to $400,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
