The Creative Executive supports the President and the Senior staff and aids in various duties related to the procuring of material, development and production of assigned feature filmsfor the Screen Gems label.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and breakdown scripts to identify strengths and weakness
Make recommendations of the commercial impact and quality of screenplays/scripts to be optioned and those that are in development
Tracks and acquires material for movie consideration
Assist with reading, script development, and production
Provide thoughtful and constructive notes on pitches, outlines, scripts, and cuts
Make lists of prospective talent for projects (writers directors productors actors - knowledge of up-and-coming talent
Supports the senior executiveon a film through various stages of production
Be able to pith and articulate new material to senior management with a creative point of view
Builds and maintains relationships with writers, producers, directors and other talent
Attend shoots, table reads, and post sessions when needed
Identifies and pursue potential new business opportunities
Required Skills:
1-3 years of relevant experience working in Development, preferably in the Entertainment industry or related field
Bachelor’s degree required
Ability to identify projects with commercial and artistic potential that can be matched to clear audiences
Affinity for the horror thriller, action sci-fi genres
Keen sense of changing audience tastes, trends and global market for films
Comprehensive knowledge and ongoing practice of viewing past and present film/filmmaking
Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced, high performing, high volume business environment
Common sense, dependability, discretion and attention to detail are required
Excellent communication skills – written and oral (must have a professional and courteous demeanor)
Must be a self-starter with a team-player attitude
Must be flexible – an ability to work well in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize to ensure that all assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner
Proficient in Mac and PC platforms, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Keynote & Photoshop
